Trump Administration Reaches Second Settlement With Michael Flynn
The agreement marks the government's second settlement with Flynn since March, when it agreed to pay the prominent Trump ally $1.25 million.
The Trump administration has agreed to a second settlement with former national security adviser and Trump ally Michael Flynn, according to a court document filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
The settlement relates to a civil suit Flynn brought against the United States government, in which he alleges that the U.S. Army illegally garnished his retirement pay.
The agreement marks the second settlement the government has reached with Flynn in recent months. In March, it agreed to pay $1.25 million to settle a lawsuit in which Flynn claimed he was maliciously prosecuted for lying to federal investigators, according to the full text of the March 2026 settlement agreement obtained by Lawfare.
The terms of Flynn’s latest settlement agreement remain unclear. According to today’s court filing, the parties agreed to a settlement “in principle” but are still working on finalize the terms of the deal.
